Modding question... My own face in game

Hi everyone!

I've been thinking about drivers mods.

You know, no helmet drivers and all that stuff...

Well, I want to know if it's possible to put my own face in game. (Because YOLO, LOL) Maybe just for showroom screenshots.

I have my face in PES2021, so I'm wondering if that same head could be used in AC...

Thanks!

Many things are possible in AC, puting your own face in the game is possible. For example this is the face texture of driver_euro3.kn5. You need to create a texture like this as DDS, extract an existing driver_xxx.kn5 (Kn5Conv.exe), open the FBX with kseditor and change the face texture to the new one.

Save as a new driver modell and place it either in driver3d.ini or switch it with CSP (DRIVER3D_MODEL).

And can't I just edit this picture in Photoshop or something like that? XD
All those steps seem a bit tedious to me just for laughs...:whistling:

You can take a screenshot while driving and then Photoshop your face onto the driver's head.

But you can't change a texture inside a model - file just via Photoshop.

Ofc you can also take the original texture, save as photo, edit it in Photoshop, put it back into the texture editor, save it as the texture and out that texture back into the model-file.

You don't need to create a texture from scratch, but you need to edit the photo inside of the texture, which needs a few steps to pull it out of the game and stick it back in there.

Thanks a lot!!!

Something like that was my idea... I'm not afraid of working with Photoshop...I need to learn how to extract everything and put it back together... The PS part is "easy"

Thanks!

For another idea, you can look into photogrammetry of your own head. You can do that with just a phone camera and taking loads of selfies, or there is a specific app for it. Once you have the 3d model, it'll be possible to add that into the game.

Again, not easy but very doable.

The thing is I already have my head in PES 2021... I was just wondering if I could use it...

Uhm.... Are you guys sure you need to extract and recompile things and make a new driver file? Can't you just change the driver face texture and keep it in your skin folder and it will display on that skin? That's how literally all texture overrides in AC work. If there is a DDS on the model you can override it by placing your edited one with the same name in your skin folder. It works for every single texture on the car and the driver and pit crew. The driver's face shouldn't be any different.

No kseditor or exporting models or anything. Just grab the default texture, alter it as desired, then drop the saved .DDS with the correct name in your desired skin folder(s).

So, you mean I can pick the picture above, insert my face in GIMP, for example, and put it back in the game? That would be absolutely fantastic.

That's how old face modding worked...

Should work! I haven't done any face edits myself, but it should work. You just need to make sure your .DDS name is the same as the one used on the driver model.

Well, I have done something with the texture above in PS...

What do I have to do now? I have to save it as a .DDS in PS? Or do I need a different program?...

You'll need one of the DDS plugins for Photoshop—there's an older one from Nvidia and one from Intel IIRC. The Intel one is the newer plugin which I prefer.

When you save it out if it needs an alpha channel save as DXT5, or DXT 3 if no alpha. Make sure the filename is the same as the default texture and place it in your skin folder. Should be good to go after that!

Hi Mate, one question, how were you able to include your face in PES2021? That's amazing
