Not certain if this is the right place for it, but.
In order to update a car mod that crashes with version 1.1:
1) Go to the car's data folder, open aero.ini in a text editor. Delete the 'data' section:
Code:
[DATA]
REFERENCE_AREA=1.65 ; Frontal area in m^2
CD=0.35 ; Drag coefficient
CL=-0.05 ; lift coefficient (positive is downforce, negative is lift)
FRONT_SHARE=0.50 ; percentance of drag on front axis
CDX=1
CDY=1
All of that, erase.
2) If it's still crashing, go to the sfx folder. If you don't want to mess around, just delete the .bank & it'll load ok with no sounds.
Otherwise, open the GUIDs.txt. It'll be a set of lines like this.
Code:
{0cfb15eb-581b-49e3-a190-6248d359d460} event:/cars/reliant_robin/backfire_ext
Specifically, you can only fix it if they all have "event:/cars/name_of_car/" in the middle.
If so, you need to look up the bank name that goes with them. Navigate to assettocorsa/content/sfx/GUIDs.txt. Search for the beginning of the line ("0cfb15eb", etc.). You'll find that the original version of it was
Code:
{0cfb15eb-581b-49e3-a190-6248d359d460} event:/cars/abarth500/backfire_ext
Find the corresponding bank:/abarth500 line,
Code:
{d1cd7211-834d-4f6c-8b03-5bca57d0e346} bank:/abarth500
(substituting the name that you found earlier)
Put this into the car's GUIDs.txt, modified to match the name used already:
Code:
{d1cd7211-834d-4f6c-8b03-5bca57d0e346} bank:/reliant_robin
Also go to that original car's folder (content/cars/abarth500/sfx) and copy the bank, renaming it to match the car you're fixing.
If the steps in (2) don't work, the car's using a custom bank that's broken. Go bug whoever made it.
As before, you can also do this (copy bank & GUIDs) to put sound on other cars that have custom sounds that are broken.
