**Time Trial Setup** - Full Traction, ABS Brakes, Auto Gears, Xbox Controller (PC)

Over 250 Laps of Monaco TT. My recent experience with the 2016 version of Circuit de Monaco below.

Saint Devote - Feels tighter than usual. It will have you cursing as you try for the perfect line up the hill. I tend to approach the corner a little to the right of the racing line to avoid the annoying wall on the left.

Massenet - Not too bad but it takes getting used to . Powering through will put you in a bad spot for Casino, which is hard to get right sometimes. If approach is good, you can turn into Casino with no braking. While this is quicker, it isn't always easy to pull off.

Mirabeau Haute - The downhill slope just before it has a huge bump off the racing line. In previous games you could go straight over (instead of the usual line) with no punishment, but now it's so big you can feel the bounce. It may upset the car, so the natural racing line is encouraged. Like Saint Devote, it feels tighter than usual, making it harder to line yourself up for the hairpin.

Grand Hotel Hairpin - With the wrong setup you may end up getting stuck here.

Portier - As it's blind, it's often difficult to nail it so you get the best possible acceleration for the tunnel. Not much room for error.

Tunnel - Easy stuff. Sometimes the tunnel can be bumpy with an awkward angle which discourages full throttle, but this time it's one of the easiest.

Nouvelle Chicane - Nightmare. This is trickier than normal, as the braking zone before the corner is bumpy, the curb on the right makes your braking unstable, and then you're expected to slow down and turn in without a) cutting or b) not turning into the barrier . Often enough it's about damage limitation.

Tabac - Business as usual. The more brave you are the better the reward.

Pool (13-16) - In previous titles I remember this being fairly simple, and somewhat slow after 13-14. Not anymore ... brace yourself for the carnage that is Pool. For no reason it's much quicker, and expects you to aggressively power your way over the curb at turn 16. I had issues going through 13-14, every time I tried the car would go light and lunge to the left wall. After tuning the setup a bit more, it doesn't happen as much, but sometimes it will go light and there's a small window to respond to it.

La Rascasse - In some games this was small and slow, but it's not so bad now. There's plenty of room on the outside to swoop in and get good acceleration heading to the last corners.

Anthony Noghes - Essentially the most important corner(s), as it not only sets you up, it can also be the undoing of all your hard work. There's an elevation change leading to the entry; It's not just flat. The yellow advertisement board is on the inside wall, which you can get close too.

I'm positive if I got each corner perfect I would be seeing 1:13:3s (I had it but the lap didn't count), but it's challenging. I like to think Codemasters put extra effort into Monaco. It's faster, and certainly a rush when you get used to it.

This setup is brilliant! Works perfect for Career Mode also, as the tyre wear is very low. I was able to push hard and still was very easy inside the purple segments in tyre management programm. My best time in Manor is 1:16.479 on supersoft tires (medium TC, ABS on), and there is still room for large improvement, as I did only about 20 laps and my driving is still far from perfect. I feel like I'm losing lots of time in Massenet, Casino and Tabac, so if i get these corners right, i think that 1:15 is possible. Also I didn't use ultrasofts yet.

Things got better than I could imagine, I did 1:14.079 in Q3, which gave me pole position on Legend difficulty. In a freaking Manor! ;) Kyle, sir, you are a genius :) And tyre wear is great aswell, 10 straight hot laps on supersofts did only 18% of tyre wear, so if I'd be little more gentle to the tires, it is totally possible to do one stop strategy.

Nice to know the tyre wear is good. Time Trial doesn't use tyre wear so I didn't set up for that, but still it's cool to know it works in career mode. Got a few more time trial setups to do then I can start career myself.
 
It certainly works, I won the race without much problem, despite losing almost 20s advantage because of the safety car. I started od ultrasofts, so i did two stop strategy, US, US and SS, pushed as hell all the time, and at the end of every stint there was still some tire life left. So I think you may remove that "do not use for race conditions" line :)

*Race Setup* - Despite Grish saying TT setup was good on tyres, it was not quick enough down the straights for my liking. It made Qualifying pace program a little difficult, til I tweaked it a bit and got some straight line speed.

One thing I will say about Monaco is it's very unforgiving in this game, so bumpy, the car doesn't turn enough in the hairpin with a controller ... and that revamped pool section still makes me nervous. 6th in the end.
