Kunos Simulazioni have released another batch of new preview images from the upcoming Porsche DLC Volume One package, focusing on the Porsche 918 Spyder that is set to be released alongside six other models from the Porsche brand.
The 918 Spyder is a 4.6 litre V8 mid-engine two-seater sports car delivering 608 metric horsepower (447 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 528 N·m (389 lbf·ft) of maximum torque. In layman's terms, the 918 Spyder can reach 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h (120 mph) in 7.2 seconds, 0-300 km/h (190 mph) in 19.9 seconds and a tested top speed of 218 mph (351 km/h). So yes, its pretty quick. So quick in fact during a Car and Driver's independent test the Porsche 918 achieved a 2.2 second 0-60 mph, making it the fastest accelerating production car currently produced.
In much the way of modern motoring, the 918 benefits from hybrid technology, hosting two electric motors delivering an additional 279 PS (205 kW) of power. With an additional 154hp courtesy of the rear wheel driven electric motor. The front 92 kW electric motor drives the front axle of the 918, with the total system giving off 887 PS (652 kW) and 1,280 N·m (940 lbf·ft) of torque
So we can safely say its a good and quick car, no doubt produced to an incredibly high standard by the man and women working over at Kunos Simulazioni.
