Most odd problem – no car power past 2nd gear

Hello all,

Been scratching my head over this all week and can't fathom out what's up, or how I might have done it.

Any car (OK, I've tried about three – 911 Carrera S, Lotus, one other I forget) if I accelerate it takes a moment to pick up in 1st, then works normally, change into second, needle goes around the rev counter a little lethargically, pick third and the car stops accelerating like it's travelling through treacle. If it were a normal car I'd describe it as 'completely lacking power'.

Running on a decent spec PC (i7, GTX 1080ti, 16gb mem) in VR, Fanatec CSW2.5 + 918 wheel + pedals + SQ shifter. I've reset the controller config once in AC to no avail. Oddly everything works perfectly fine in Project Cars 2.

Would anyone have any idea what setting this could be please? What have I done? :)

Many thanks!

Which launcher do you use ? ....
If started with Content Manager, check if you have not the Restrictor at 100% in place of 0%
In Practice, Hotlap and Race ... it's the last cursor at the right.

If all cars have the problem you mention, that setting might be the source of it.

Fatalist88, you get a prize for being the closest to the problem ;-)

*sigh* It's always a really simple answer, isn't it? So whilst trying a couple of other cars the behaviour was either there or not – McLaren 570? Worked fine. Lotus Elise? Couldn't get off the line! Thought it might be the clutch needed inverting … of course, it turned out to be the handbrake.

I don't think I'd driven AC since adding a Fanatec handbrake to the setup, and despite the scale looking fine during control setup, it wasn't. It needed inverting.

So yeah, the cause of my 'power' issue was I was driving with the handbrake on … :)

I had another stupid idea ... but thanks to Fatalist88 to avoid me saying this other stupid answer:
Is your gas pedal not inverted while you need it inverted ? :roflmao: .... finally it had to be something like that. ;)
