MP3 software

I've just bought a new car and It's my first car to have a USB port capable of taking a memory stick with music on.

I need to tidy up my MP3 collection, which is a complete mess, so I can use it in the new car. Can you guys help by advising:

1. What software do you use to manage your mp3 collection on your PC?
2. Can you recommend software to sort out song title/artist/album metadata for digital music files? Ideally something fairly automated, as I have a library of about 4000 MP3s.

JRiver is the best but not free.

Perhaps not PLEX, it's more for Media Streaming.
But others are all good for music collections management, tagging, etc.

That's a good one for tagging alone, I've used it before JRiver.
