DiRT 4 Multiplayer, invite a friend

Just bought Dirt 4 as well as a pal of mine. We want to race each other.

We are both registered on racenet.

When I setup a game I click invite friends but he is not there.

What am I doing wrong?

I think, if you are using a PC, you should be friends on steam!
Otherwise you can get friends on the Dirt Rally Homepage via racenet.
