MXGP Pro is still available on Steam and it's cheap. It's still a very enjoyable MX sim, with decent graphics and physics. It runs effortlessly on modern systems.
But there's one glaring issue. It features the most draconian track rule enforcement of the series. Milestone repented in later releases, but in MXGP Pro, stray one centimeter off of the strict track boundaries, and your lap is instantly invalidated.
The game runs on the UE4 engine and responds to any UE4 commands that you put in gameusersettings.ini or engine.ini, as the case may be. I run it with HDR and heavy effects that way, and still get blistering frame rates.
The game uses pak files, same as other Milestone titles, and once you get those open, you can edit everything.
It would be a fine thing indeed if one of our knowledgeable, intrepid modders could open up the pack files and either loosen up or kill the frustrating penalty system That would be all that it would take to make MXGP Pro a genuine bargain basement gem.
