My game stock car extreme is non functional. wont accept name

I had GSCE working for a while. Then I started to have crashes on startup. I renamed the d3d9 which allowed me to at least enter the game but now it asks me for a player name and it wont accept any name I enter. It seems to flash the next screen for a milisecond then goes back to the name entry screen. I also cannot completely uninstall the game and re install. Thank you for reading and let me know where I can be more specific about my process to help me get this sorted.

Running as admin does not solve the issue

Perhaps you can try to download the game a second time et try to install it somewhere else
