DiRT Rally Need tips on how to setup a low degree wheel, please

Is there a way to get an old wheel like mine(Sidewinder) to work in this game or
am i wasting my time?
I've been trying different values in the advanced settings (linearity, saturation,...) and no
setting makes the handling good enough. It's either too fast and twitchy or it is
delayed and floats and feels like playing with a keyboard (the steering sort of builds up and is unresponsive...).

If there's anyone who uses an older low degree wheel and has it working alright in the game,
can you give me some tips, please ?
