New monitors on the horizon...

Fan noise happens not to bother me at all. I turn sound up when gaming, both sims and FPS's as well. My hearing isn't great. I use my Sennheiser PC360 headset, as I removed my Monoprice 2.0 speakers quite a while back.

You can't go wrong with either of those monitors. If I got that 38", I'm afraid even my wife would notice the size difference from my current 27" Acer... unfortunately. :(

Besides fan, it's HDR 600 (probably not that important), and local dimming (12 zones).
Fan is what most users on reddit complain, seems like some units are really loud.

Got that 38" yesterday, ideal size for desk setup.
It is as stunning as reviews say, GSync compatible Freesync works flawlessly, HDR600 turns supported games into some serious eye candy, not a gimmick for sure.
For rig setup I'd suggest something bigger though, or VR (always VR ;))

Wow, awesome!! I'm jealous.

So, you're saying, in essence, that if one gets a quality VR headset, you don't need the big monitor... that the VR headset 'becomes' one's monitor to a degree?

I'm just not sure what the VR technology is bringing to the table... Immersion, yes, but is it a substitute for a large screen?

You need some monitor on rig for sure, but my 42" bolted to P1X has no use except in between racing sessions activities.
38" desk setup is for all other non racing gaming and work (well, we have to do that sometimes too :))
