New Next Level Racing Aluminum Rig

NLR shared this photo yesterday and plan to launch next month. No price yet.

Interesting that the rig can be configured for different racing types.

Since I am in the rig market, this is interesting. I am coming from a GT Track and I want more flexibility that 8020 provides.

In my head, the questions are:
  • Price
  • Stiffness
  • Customizability
Will certainly be hard to compete with the other 8020 rig builders.

Good looking and a nice departure from the 90-degree profile rig aesthetic. (I have always been the guy who would build Lego items by departing from the original design intent!)

The angle cut profiles and unique plates might diminish ease of customization somewhat.

The adjustable seat looks intriguing.

Design looks cool, bit of copy from other 8020 rigs but that's to be expected. But it's not pratical enough as far as I can judge from the picture. You can't fit any items on the 2 diagonal bars on which the wheel is mounted.

The image also doesn't show cables and power bricks. The Simucube2 Pro on the NLR photo, uses 2 power bricks (a reason why I went for the SC2 Sport with 1 brick).

Here's a pic of my rig, P1-X. I have in total 6 items attached to the straight bars (power brick 2 and USB 4 are mandatory items, the rest is optional) and I could expand even more:

If NLR has a solution for attaching stuff on diagonal bars, then it's fine of course!
