Studio 397 and the rFactor 2 Track Team have released a new preview image from the upcoming NOLA Motorsports Park track due to release for rFactor 2, showing the circuit Events Centre as development continues prior to release of the new track.

Since Studio 397 took over the reigns of rFactor 2 development from Image Space Incorporated back in September, several pieces of new content have been confirmed, with both NOLA and the new USF 2000 series due to arrive in the very near future. Although Studio 397 are understandably guarded as to when players might expect to find NOLA released to the public, historically the Track Team tweets tend to come pretty close to release day.

We haven't seen a new first party track release for quite a while in rF2, and it will be interesting to see how NOLA, a circuit little known outside of the United States, is represented in the game. Fans can expect the usual rF2 track quality as the all the content artists from ISI have migrated over to Studio 397, but nevertheless it will be a big moment for Studio397 as they celebrate their first content release as sole developers of rFactor 2.

For those unfamiliar with the circuit, NOLA Motorsports Park is a permanent road course in Avondale, Louisiana, approximately twenty minutes from downtown New Orleans. Opened in 2011 and measuring 8.64km across 27 challenging corners, the fairly new addition to the American racing scene is an impressive facility and a challenging experience for drivers. Although the circuit hasn't hosted many major international events, it's inclusion in the rFactor 2 simulation is a welcome addition and should hopefully introduce a new batch of fans to one of America's hidden motorsport jewels.

I understand you're anxious to learn more about this, @Kevin Knorpp, but it's still a bit too early for us to go into details. Our goal is to make existing content look at least as good as it does now, and perform at least as well. However, building a new graphics engine is a big undertaking, so you'll have to be patient. Rest assured, we intend to work with the modding community to ensure that content can be upgraded to take advantage of some aspects of the new engine.
