Newbee here

Hi, I have signed up here because one of my contacts directed me to this forum and thought I should give it a shot. I did a lot of simracing in the late 90s (mostly ICR2 and later rFactor). Recently I got back into sim racing. But it’s still srictly rFactor 1 for me. Now since rFactorcentral has become a shadow of itself (plus becoming a pay site) in terms of resources and most of the links I find on the internet are dead I would need some information on where I could still find most of the content that used to be on rFactorcentral. And where could I place my questions when it comes to tweaking mods and understanding the infrascruture on the files etc. Any help is appreciated. If this is not the right place for me I would be glad if somebody could direct me to forums or even individuals where I could get information.

Cheers,

HRR

Welcome, HRR!

Look around the subforums for mods and organized races. Be sure to post in the RF1/RF2 subforum for the best chance at a response.

I strongly urge you to become a Premium member of RaceDepartment. I just signed up for my second year and it more than pays for itself.

Good luck and Godspeed,
Chris

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I don't plan to upgrade to rF2 and I don't race online against other people. Plus I am just starting again and want to see if I still got the fire. So what would be the advantages of becoming a premium member?

A partial list of premium member benefits ri which I am partial (there are many more):

1) Ability to download all posted mod cars & tracks

2) Ability to join club races

3) Ability to join in group buys like the SFX-100 Arduino shield purchase

4) Support the largest online sim racing community. Places like this don't just happen and they quickly fade without dedicated people. Witness exhibit #1 - isrtv.com is a shadow of itself.

15/Euros per year is just over a Euro a month for the site where I spend 99% of my time learning about our hobby and interacting with other enthusiasts.
