No investment for me....

No investment here untill price comes waaaaay down. Enough said.

I believe you made your opinion pretty clear the last time you came here to troll.

Don’t bother replying. He never defended his point last time either:

The sim overall is pretty good. Physics and other areas are outstanding. However, from a graphical standpoint I think they may have picked the wrong engine. Its a bit sad that AC with CSP and Sol actually looks better than ACC from a clarity, lighting, sharpness of textures point. They do need to figure out how to tweak the unreal engine to offer clearer image quality and better performance. That is, if that's even possible.

P.S. $15 is a bargain for four well made tracks.

As much as people seem unwilling to accept it, it appears to be very much system-dependent. That doesn’t necessarily mean that your hardware is not up to the job, it could just as easily be a driver/system setup problem. I have AC with the mods and ACC definitely looks better (and runs smoothly) for me and I’m not running it on a stellar machine.

My machine is OK, Ryzen 3600, 1070 GTX etc. Not stellar either. ACC does run ok for, as me I usually run at 85 fps with gsync. However, I dont really think the visuals are up to par for a 'next gen' sim racing title. It does have a problem with being blurry, unclear, undefined, and applying a sharpening filter doesn't really help the image quality as it introduces artifacts. There is something strange about the color gamut in general. The only thing that really helps it is upping the resolution, which we should not have to do. But dont get me wrong. it does have its good moments visually, just not enough of it.

Why would you make a thread to say you are not going to buy something?
By all means respond to a thread saying so, but 'creating one'!!!!!
Just don't buy it, move on and enjoy the sims that you do play. No need to tell the world.

Which is what makes me think it’s a problem somewhere with your system. My graphics are pin-sharp - look at the ACC videos on YouTube. How many of them look “blurry, unclear, undefined”? How can it work for us but not for you? The same applies to the colours. Some people seem to get blurry graphics (more often at 1080p) but most don’t. If it was a problem with the game, everyone would be seeing it and they’re not.

I think some people are trying to run a 'next gen' sim on 'last gen' systems (not aimed at anyone in particular).
And they wonder why they are not seeing next gen graphics etc.
That's obviously going to be the case if you have to reduce graphics to get it to run well.

ACC can be made to run quite well, as long as you take some time to optimize the Nvidia Control Panel settings.
There is very little that needs adjusting in the game settings itself.
One of the big issues I've seen is people letting Geforce Experience 'optimize' the game by default.
Some aren't even aware this is done automatically at driver installation if you select that option.
It'll often run just about every graphic's slider to maximum.
Settings like AF and AA...well above what is considered necessary can tax a system to the point of stutter.

There will always be titles whose developers aim to push the limits of available hardware. And those titles actually tend to do well long-term. The well-documented struggle for many to max out the graphics, and the hype of just how good it looks when you can, are both steady streams of free publicity. From a marketing standpoint, it’s a pretty smart move to be honest.

We’ve seen it time and time again in other gaming genres. It’s just never been done in the sim racing world, so there will inevitably be some teething issues.

I gave AC a try after seeing so many comments claiming it looks just as good or even better modded. With the right hardware it really isn’t close. But to each their own.

AC with CSP / SOL takes a little tweaking and I have to say with the latest builds it looks amazing. The images are very well defined, clear, and clean (without introducing aliasing). On the other hand, I have yet to figure out how to make ACC look as good. I seriously doubt anyone is getting 'pin sharp' images from ACC without running at least 1440p and 200% scaling. Yes, ACC has larger and more detail textures; however, its like the 392 Hemi in a Challenger, your're not going to get much traction on the stock 245 tires. They're missing components to make the larger textures shine through.

P.S. I also notice that graphics settings have little impact on ACC performance, with the exception of mirrors.

I think some graphic settings need close and open ACC again to be effective, maybe that´s why you hardly notice any change.
AC engine looks great after 6 years of development and 2-3 years of never-ending mods tweaking. Also you are running a 6 year old software with today´s hardware.
Let bump this post again in 4 years time, when we all are buying RTX 30XX at least ;) and check UE performance and quality.

It’s probably built for 4K, which is what I’m running. Admittedly expensive to do so, but it looks real.
