No Q mode in 2019

Q mode Will be gone in 2019. The extra oil used in Q mode will be forbidden next year!
Hope this news is true, so Merc and Fer don't have that + anymore, and Q will be more fair.

I know it's easy to point fingers, but Ferrari and Mercedes are not the only one using the part mode.
About Honda, I'm not sure since I haven't read about them having it.

And despite banning the Q mode, I don't think this will help that much to make it fair.

Nevertheless the spair oil tank has to be empty during Q.

Just like the Qualifying tires and rocket fuel of the 90's. Personally i haven't watched qualifying for 15 years. Its what happens on face day. Where you start and where you finish. With the hope you gained ground in the race and did not loose places.

And with the spare oil tank being empty, you still have the massive gaps in performance between the engines. So Ferrari and Mercedes engines are still on top, with Renault and Honda engines fighting for tthe crumbs. But... With a smaller margin.

What's not fair about the current system? Same rules for everyone. Get a better engine if you want to get pole

Agree. The rules are the same for everybody.
Get your act together if you want to score a pole. Punishing engine suppliers by limiting their engineering is another rule which is killing F1.

I think it's rather funny why Appie is pointing his finger at Ferrari and Mercedes, while Renault is using a Q mode as well. The result of that margin between them is the lack of engineerjng at Renault.
