Nonsense Blanchimont warnings

Hello, I've been getting random warnings at Blanchimont that makes absolutely no sense. I captured one of these recently.

This is just one case, it's been happening since last patch, sometimes the game simply gives me a warning for track limits at Blanchimont(or just invalidades my lap if it's hotlap or qualy).

Anybody else having the same problem? I remember a race where I got 2, thought I was going to get a penalty for no reason.

Nonsense. You don't get a warning for going that wide at Blanchimont.

At 32:43(end of lap 7) I had pretty much the same exit and got no warning.

It's pretty normal to go that wide.

AFAIK the Blancpain GT Series define the track limits a bit more strict. So it makes no sense to compare to other series. Keep in mind also you'll not get a warning for every single cut.

1. Yeah, I noticed sometimes it doesn't pick up a pretty clear cut - I'm not the programmer of that code so don't ask me why. Easiest is to just not go 4 wheels off, then you know you have good driving standards.

2. The game doesn't mimic exactly the same penalty behaviour as real life - no game ever does. Also, British GT is another series altogether, thus irrelevant as every race category has their own interpretation regarding driving standards, including staying inside the lines.

Yes, everybody goes over the lines occasionally, but you get 3 free ones per race, so you should not worry about penalties anyway.

I just picked a video with GT cars, you can check any other video and going that wide(as I did) is pretty normal. I don't go wide like that everytime, and drivers don't do that as well, but when it happens, it's not a warning. The warning behavior in ACC is not the norm, it sometimes happens, it's rare.

If strict corner cutting rules are applied (in any series?), you have to have 2 wheels inside of the white line at all times.
(Race control can't/won't always see or penalize you for it.)

That's not the point.

Listen, my complaint is about consistency. I occasionally get a warning going through Blanchimont, I could swear I got some warnings while having 2 tyres on the tarmac as well.

The point is, there's something wrong there, and at least for me, it's only happening since the last patch, I never had that issue once the track was first released up to this latest patch.

I'm not trying to complain about track limits, where it should be drawn, that's not it. It feels like there's live F1 stewards watching me drive, sometimes giving a warning and sometimes ignoring it for the exact same behavior.

Direct your complaints at the official forums then if you don't agree with it - you won't get much help from them here.

Unless @kunos is in the mood for a discussion here.

It may not be the point, but if you make sure you stay within the white line, you certainly won't get penalized. ;) No complaining about consistency possible in that case.
In your video you clearly went wide twice.

I find track limits tricky at times, too. They sometimes can feel a little bit unnatural. I'm always amazed in MP at how people butcher some corners/chicanes and get away with it.

Just go watch any spa 24h video, people go wide like that all the time, has nothing to do with more strict track limits.

It's all about consistency. There's no surprise in people "butchering" corners, if that's allowed then people are going to use that and expect no warnings because the game allows. If suddenly said corner sometimes gives you a warning, you are left wondering what you did differently this time that triggered that.

Unfortunately, I don't have other recordings of this happening, but as I said, this probably happened even with 2 tyres on the tarmac. This is the only corner in the whole game that at the moment feels like a coin toss for me. As I said this behavior is rare.

Mostly the taken lines here are very similar to what is allowed to do ingame. I wouldn't call the limits around Spa "nonsense".
If you like have a look at my videos of a valid laps around Spa (I'm on the right side):

If you still think there is a bug or an unjustified cut warning/penalty report it here:

According to the replies you got here not a single one seems to be getting your point.
So go on and use the link I've provided to report the "issue/bug" or simply stay inside the track limits.
And again: You'll not get a warning/penalty for every single cut during a race session.

The important point is what @Gergo Panker said: The difference is if you gain time at that very corner, where you violate the boundary of the track. Doesn't matter if the overall lap was the fastest or not. Maybe on your fastest lap you did overstep the white line with all four wheels, but didn't gain time doing it.

But I did gain time on blanchimont on my fastest lap. I used that line many, many times during this race, went wide many times as well. But I only got a warning on the second lap, a bad lap, a bad blanchimont.

Can't you guys see it so clearly?
