Not the usual multiplayer-skin question: deleting vanilla skins

Hello!
AI in the latest version has become very good in my opinion. I have lots of skins downloaded into the game, but the AI more often than not uses vanilla unlicensed skins that can be a bit offputting. That leads to the question:
If I deleted (and backed up of course) some of the vanilla skins that would be used as default in a multiplayer race, what would be the consequences? Would I see a default white car or would it lead to a "crash", or maybe apocalypse?
Thanks for the replies :)

Michael's solution is surely the best ;)
To avoid the problem he mentions .... using JSGME to replace the original skins by your custom ones.... will allow to avoid it.
Unactivating those skins install with JSGME before an announced update .... and reactivating them after the update will be quickly done without having to reinstall all custom skins.

True also for car mods, tracks, apps, graphical mods ... and whatever you like to modifiy in game.
