Back on the sim-racing bandwagon!
Looking for some opinions on the best offline sims.
Until recently I've only really bothered with iRacing but real life commitments on top of work commitments meant I didn't use my rig for almost a year for fear of messing up someone's race. I just couldn't get in the time to practice.
So I'm getting a bit more time now and have a few different sims that I've purchased (I'm also aware that iRacing has introduced limited AI but it's not my thing due to the cost - typically available on tracks I have not bought yet!)
I quite like ACC and have spent some time getting to know the Nissan, started a career several times trying to find a good balance / challenge but it does seem to be either too easy or too hard with no fine adjustment. Someone also pointed out that the career has no purpose. No points or progression - just a sequence of unrelated race weekends. I looked at the championship mode but can't select the Nissan for either the 2018 or 2019 when selecting Sprint Races.. Maybe I'll have to learn another car.
The other option I've looked at is Race Room - I haven't bought any content yet but it looks to have masses of it at a reasonable price (compared to iRacing) if you buy it in one big chunk. Are the AI in this competent and adjustable enough to meet my needs do you think? It looks as if you can run WTC championships and DTM as well which I'd be interested in (but no BTCC ).
What would you pick to play if suddenly online was not an option?
Thanks for reading
