site_logo.pngFormula SimRacing is excited to join forces with RaceDepartment with immediate effect. RaceDepartment, being a highly respected and large simracing community, running several high profile leagues and events, is a great partner for Formula SimRacing in the endeavour to bring professional simracing to the next level.

For this year, RaceDepartment will host Formula SimRacing's official discussion forums along all the other already existing league and discussion forums of RD, bringing the community closer together and making it easier for all sim racers and community members to keep track of important sim racing leagues, events, and news around the sport.

For 2011, RaceDepartment and Formula SimRacing will look into the option of an even closer partnership which is to be worked out.

Eric Kaczmarek, RaceDepartment Admin:
"RaceDepartment Staff are very excited about its new partnership with Formula Simracing. FSR brings to RD the finest Open Wheeler league on the internet. It's professionalism and drivers is a fantastic addition to our growing community.

Welcome guys! Looking forward to work together on some new exciting projects."

Dennis Hirrle, FSR Admin:
"Since many years, sim racing has a big issue: It is shattered. Too many leagues on too many different places makes it unnecessarily hard for the racers and the whole community to keep track of what's going on. Several weeks ago Eric and I started our talks and it was a very pleasant experience. I'm all for joining forces, that's why we're here and are now partnering up with an excellent community as RaceDepartment is. Talks have been very fruitful and I'm excited to see what we can do for the longer term future!"

Formula SimRacing, ran by the International SimRacing Club, is currently in its 10th season of existence, being a high profile open wheel league based on rFactor. Three different categories of racing suit for the rookie as well as the pro racer, and all of them are broadcasted live.
The next event is the Monaco Grand Prix this coming weekend!

For more information, if you're new to FSR, please check out our website at www.formula-simracing.net .

Thankyou!

Thanks everyone!

Book it is kind of a catch phrase I took from a live announcer who is a friend of mine who does live gokarting events. He would use that phrase on Temp. Street circuits with long straight aways into hard braking zones. The "Book it" really stands for something like "Put that pass in the books" meaning the pass was completed.

Interlagos was tough because there was only really 2 Book it moments and both were by the same driver....Bahrain had many more.

As long as there is "bookable" passes I will keep "Booking it" :D

Not only did drivers have to contend with the new version of the track, with painfully slow chicanes, but also the first race of the season to be run in the rain! Tire management, as well as pit strategy decisions would reveal the top contenders here. Without further adieu, the results from Barcelona are as follows:
FPWS Pro Division sees Fernando Rees of 05F1 Motorsport on top of the podium with a total race time of 1h21m24secs. Following 1m01secs behind is Peter Duivelaar, and another 1m05secs behind Peter is Joshua Wilson.

Driver Standings Season FPWS: S3
1. Ventis Didrihsons 95(0)
2. Jamie Blewitt 84(0)
3. Peter Duivelaar 75 (-8)

FPWS Semi-Pro Division has only five points between the top two drivers! Standing at the top of the podium is Kevin Ledoux , again just as last round, finishing a full 38secs ahead of Ivo Simons. Ivan Mills follows up in third place 1m00secs behind Ivo. It’s worth noting that the McLaren boys have gone from bickering to full blown man-fits akin to some three year olds fighting over their favorite race car after a front straight incident. The Paparazzi has decided NOT to publish pictures (after legal threats from the F1 president) of the after race debrief where both McLaren drivers were seen throwing punches as well as screaming at the tops of their lungs. Both feel that neither were at fault, but one thing is for certain – only one McLaren driver finished the race and there are threats of the team being re-thought for next season. Yikes ;)

Driver Standings Season FPWS: S3
1. Ivo Simons 100 (0)
2. Kevin Ledoux 95 (0)
3. Joao Andias 85 (-3)

A couple of months ago, Com8 released some previews of his scratch-made project - Norisring 2009. Here are some new previews of his work, and it is looking stunning.

Also below is an on-board lap of the track in alpha stage from a couple of months ago. Com8 plans to have the track released before the DTM Norisring round on July 4.
