When the community was booming and multiplayer was better than ANYTHING out there. It's also a tie with Operation Flashpoint. Great community and great multiplayer. Those two games were probably 2 of the most important games I've played... Just fantastic. Not the best graphics or physics or anything, but they just were great with what they ran on.
