Opening the menu from VR

Hello all,

I just started playing AC and I use it on VR with a bluetooth mouse. Is it possible to open the side menu that you have at the start of the game, so that I can pause / restart etc without leaving VR? I am trying to find out to open the escape / pause menu without a keyboard. I'm not talking about the actual game menu, I understand that doesn't work as part of VR, I literally mean the in game menu that appears when the sim is running. Once it's open, I can use a bluetooth mouse.

With my old G27 wheel I was able to assign keyboard keys with the logitech profiler software, but I don't know if that is case with the newer wheels.
I use a wireless keyboard/pad with my VR setup.
Can you assign commands on your mouse?

If you have any buttons available you can use them to map to the ESC and Start functions. It can be done within the AC settings under Controls.

I have my buttons mapped musing joytokey which opens with windows. I can’t recall if I needed to do this for the wheel - but IIRC it was just for the external homemade button box, not the wheel.

I use VR and have three buttons assigned to 'escape' to access the in-game menu, the normal esc button, a button on my G29 and a mouse button. If you are wanting to access the side menu with the mouse but are using mouse steering ctrl M switches mouse steering on or off. You could also assign this to some other input for ease of use in VR.
