If you've ever used Racelab apps for iRacing, this is an awesome feature to have. Picture this:
You're driving an open wheeler, so you have your overlays in certain places to avoid blocking the mirrors/gauges/etc of that car. but then you jump in a GT3 and now it's blocking the rear view mirror or a gauge/delta timer/etc for that car...so in AC1 you had to move everything to a better position every time you switch cars. Then you jump in another type of GT or Prototype and the rear view mirror isn't glass and above you, but is a camera and positioned down by the dash...sigh...move again.
Just like how you can save driver position per car in AC1, do the same for overlays that auto-load when in that car. Take it one step further and allow different configs for practice vs. qualifying vs. race (again, per car)...the things I'd want to see in qualifying differ from what I'd need during a race session.
