PB Laptimes

It only tracks you PB in the Time Trial and one tip probably not everybody knows: If you add a ghost from the leaderboard with the same car, you can load and save the setup.
Oh man. Dont tell him.
I have got some really bad publicity in the Reiza forum because I told people not to steal my TT setups.
Mainly the setup-imbeciles wanted to kill me :roflmao:

Is race department sort of the troll dungeon for the Reiza forum. I tried to start an account but put a wrong letter on the email part and I cant figure out how to fix it. Its ok though I do kind of like it here.

The game has great potential, but like the Reiza forms the communities opinion is becoming split.

The game has a small group of loyal followers, but many are getting tired of the bugs and lack of polish at this point, so there's not much talk on this form outside of RD news articles on updates and new content.
90% of threads created here are people having issues with a game.

I dont think the unsolved bugs and missing polish is the worst thing - but more the lack of devs communication about what exactly of the more annoying bugs is on the todo list.
Conserning issues then at the moment there is a cheater on the TT Leaderboards who is able to drive in circles around every others - and until now Reiza just seems to not care.

In fairness, though I am afraid to say anything for fear of its return, the bug with the game not progressing seems to be fixed. The cheater thing scares me for real. Nothing and I do mean nothing can wreck a game like hackers. And Reiza does not have the tools to fight that. I swear companies use hackers to go after games. In the Battle Field series they have become infested with hackers and it seems like they either cant or wont do something about it. With Reiza there is no chance of them being able to fix something like cheaters. I worry a different studio could use something like that as a weapon.

I have to agree with this, outside the beta form and the random update promo tweet once a month, there communication with the community has been quite poor the past few months.

A complete 180 from the first yr.

I wasn't aware about the hackers....that sucks, hopefully they can sort that.

Actually it doesnt look like they intend to care.
In Reizas forum we have been a few guys rather openmouth´ed about their completely ignore of this obvious cheater on the TT leaderboards - but nothing happens.
Or rather something has happened!
Because they suddenly have banned me from the forum.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: But I guess I can live with that - at least as long as we have this one :D

Another example of Reiza´s relaxed bug attitude - and one that at least turn me off is this non-repair bug that has been from day one.
Its from TT mode where such severe graphic damage isnt repaired - even if you exit the session and go into the garage.
The only way to get it fixed is to completely exit the TT mode and start a new up completely out from the mode selection menu.

Because it has been from day one this really does show Reiza´s commitment - me think.

I sort of wonder if they or anyone can. The game is a Frankenstein so it would not surprise me if there are parts of the game they really can not figure out. I get that they were basically building a game on top of another game and to be honest it is a lot of fun. I have around 220 hours in and see no reason why I wont cross 5 or 6 hundred and for a game I have put 55 dollars in that is my money's worth. I really do wish they would consider just simplifying the game. Limit certain options to make sure players are not simply putting in a crazy amount of over steer and zipping around the track like the Jetsons. Limit option to allow for some customizable changes in rotation and grip but nothing to any extreme to me that would make the game much more real and not force players to choose between going fast and playing a car the behaves like a real car. Honestly what is gained with 80 options for tire pressure, is anyone like wow so many options this must be real. The hope is that with less options, and im thinking 6 for tire pressure 140, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65..Reiza could then model them with some level of realism of if the tire is cold put in 1.40 and it stays warm. If over heating 1.65 and keeps it cool, because right now they have a dumpster fire with changing pressure or camber or anything doing nothing. Also the game has a new glitch were it randomly takes me out of the game and i have to click on it on my desk top, Im in VR and ruins an often 45 min game. All that being said I am really happy how the last few updates have at least fixed some of the bugs and know that they are working on it so we will all just have to wait and see. Also why does the setups change every time you go to pits.

I hope my assumption is wrong....but I'm starting to get a sense that they bit off more than they could chew by choosing this engine.

If SMS with a massive development team and payroll couldn't sort the majority of bugs out over 10yrs, it will take a miracle for a small like Reiza to accomplish it in a timely matter.

Yeah Im slowly beginning to conclude something in the same direction.
Some things in the Mad engine is able to give graphic and car behaviour advantages against most competition - but other solutions in this engine (as example the setup files managesment) is completely bullocks.
And as you say even a much larger company than Reiza gave up on all the bugs and unsolved issues.
But as en excuse then how should Reiza have known this before they made the jump?

i do want to add that for the most part the bugs can be worked around.. It would be nice to have a game balanced out to the point where you can really get into detailing a setup for tracks, but AMS2 isnt really a grind sort of game. Having a basic understanding of setup seems to work fine considering just by its nature you are often driving new track and car combos. The game really has come a long ways and living with some bugs is not a game breaker provided they are not bugs that do really bad things like keep the game from progressing or randomly kicks you out. I just really wonder what is the cause of all of this and why would racing games be so complex as compared to other titles?

Any work around for the following?

Over heating brakes, terminal damage after a few laps in the go karts, along with violent shaking in the pits.
Slicks faster than wets in the rain.
GT3/GT4 bop
Tanking of fps at night with weather
Terrible AA in sunny conditions
No individual multi class scoring and faster ai getting stuck behind slower ai

well at least they got the wets to be less fast than slicks. and what class the brakes seem to behave in most of the classes you just have to keep them open to around 40 front 30 back with a 60/40 and base pressure at 90..I dont know what happened with the rain it looked better before. and for all other problems have no fear they are working on it..
