Update on my progress
Hello all,
Well, as I've already mentioned I've got myself a P45 based system. I started the build up early last morning as my personal schedule dictated it as the only possible time in a foreseeable future. "How hard can it be" I said to myself as I started ( I've built several systems in the past so I'm not a beginner in any way).
It all went well in the beginning, I started the build with a hardware setup outside of the box, all components nicely laid up on my desk. The BIOS setup was a bit tricky and will need to be fine tuned later on. But the most pain was received as I started the Vista install. I thought MS had progressed with the release of a "new" OS, but oh no...
It took me the better part of 6 hours to have a base Vista install :caged: The clock was ticking closer and closer to the Brno race start so I focused on getting Race07 and my profile backup up and ready. Unfortunately by the time my ( still laying on my desk in the open) new PC was up and running the race was already on it's way. I missed the start by a margin of a couple of minutes
Despite this setback, I'm very pleased with my choice of hardware. It's all been installed in my Antec P180 case. To say that this PC is silent is like saying that water is wet and the sky is blue I can only hear a faint high pitch noise from the WD Velociraptors disk platters spinning away ( I'll get a HDD enclosure today so solve this). Silence is bliss!

Karl
