Did they get the Pit stop function working yet? Or is that a pending item like MP?

No 1 would argue that pitstops do not belong. I would ask the devs that if they are not going to be implemented for 1.0 then at least allow for adding mass and editing the grid for split race events with reverse grid and or ballast for now

I dont belive they have nothing on pit stop or any other (not shown) features ... it might not even be half ready but they work on it...who knows.

A drive through carwash could simulate the time spent in the pits, with laser scanned bikini babes doing the work. Could play the 'Carwash' song as you go through.
I think it would serve a purpose and provide some light relief during an intense race sesh.
