F1 2012 Player Tire Wear

F1 2012 The Game (Codemasters)
Hi all, I play with an Xbox controller (wish I could afford a steering wheel) and I'm finding my tire wear rate seems much higher than the AI. I'm going to assume this is because the AI is much smoother than I am.

I've tried different car setups, I have ABS and TCS on, and yet I find the AI can easily go an extra 3-5 laps or more on 50% race distance.

I've changed the values for the "tyres" table in the database.bin to make them wear 50% faster (for scaled tire wear during my 50% races), but I believe those values apply to the player as well.

So is there any way to leave the AI tire wear as it is, but make the player tire wear a little bit less?

What an insightful answer...

Anyone else have any ideas where the variables for the player's tire wear, car handling...etc etc are? Or if they exist?

I'm trying to mod my game so the CPU is competitive to my standards, but its hard when there's so many variables to test through.
