It's no secret that Spa's infamous Eau Rouge complex (the left-right-left after the pits) is the key to hot laps of this long, unforgiving circuit...because it tees you up for the following Kimmel straight. But Pouhon, the downhill lefthander, is even trickier...because it is downhill, so gravity isn't helping the way it does at Eau Rouge. And the Blanchimont kink, although flat, connects two straights. So high-speed handling is paramount here, despite a slew of slow hairpins and fiddly chicanes. All of which is to excuse my using more wing (2) than is neccessary...if you have big brass ones. Ten laps @ Spa-Francorchamps.
P.S. The 997 isn't my fav Carrera Cup car--the 964 CC is--but the 997 has a lot more power on tap and much better gear ratios, so overall it's 10 mph faster on the Kimmel straight and 10 sec. faster lap times. If you want my secret 664 setup, PM me.
