Skies, tarmacs, TOD curves... yummy!

Tree shaders and textures here need some slight tweaks, and the panorama shader to pick up the lighting a bit better from different angles (maybe a normal map with the alpha of that 2nd texture for depth, ooooo!)

Planning to get a beta of this track out for Christmas... including lots of coned layouts for racing, slaloms, figure eights, elk testing etc.

Also about 10 weather systems, so dramatic sunsets like this, through to foggy rainy days, to cloudy normal days etc!

We need to set some new standards for track lighting/material realism imo... :D

Dave

edited to add, many thanks to the CG Skies guys for providing sample textures we can play with. I'll have to formally ask for 'free' use of their textures for free release in Racer. Probably a good advert with some credits in there for them :)

The car's not actually all that driveable cause it has a way heavy clutch and about 50% more than stock torque, but it is pretty easy to spin the tires, and trivial to powerslide. (who knows about anachronisms, the wheels and tires are off a Grand Caravan, minus the hubcaps) I think the brake bias might be off cause the rears lock up first.

Something about the 0.5.0 historic ini though; it won't get any traction on grass. Easy to spin the tires, but it just sits in place. The model's also not super high quality, so the matte paint can stay.
