Very mature and honorable of you to step forward and take responsibility for what happened Steven :good:
Guys like you are one of the main reasons I enjoy participating here so much.
And I definitely wouldn't have minded a restart at all. Stu spends a lot of time and effort on this racing club for our enjoyment. It's the least we could have done.
On another note, here's my report for race one, I will do race 2 later as I ran out of time and could only do the first for now.
I have to give BIG THANKS to Amir for suggesting during practice that I try the "slower" Vette. He said it would be more fun and he couldn't have been more correct. He even went out of his way to provide me with his setup, as did Sam when he tried to give me his for the Panty in race 2. Another reason why I love this place, the helpful and generous guys we have here :good:.
Race 1 Report:
Race starts and I settle into 5th place until the very beginning of lap 2 when Stu and Ulli touch and I fall into 3rd.
I spend a few laps trying to chase down and keep up with Amir as we run 2nd and 3rd. This is until Sam shows up and passes the both of us. Putting Amir and I in 3rd and 4th now.
With Sam now out of the picture I go back to concentrating on keeping up with and hopefully passing Amir. The first pic below shows the closest I got to passing him, the second pic shows the closest I got to hitting him:lol:. Unfortunately, I didn't pass him, thankfully, I didn't hit him.
Then a few laps later Amir goes into a slide he can't come back from and disaster strikes. This is not the way I wanted to get by Amir. I felt like an opportunist . But that's how I usually advance though, I rarely pass someone on my own merit, afraid that I might hit them while trying to pass them. Instead I just hang on to their rear bumper until something awful happens to them. I guess I am kind of like a vulture:lol:.
Then I am all by myself for a few laps. I have a small off-track event that closes the gap I had on Knut and Ulli by quite a bit. In the mean time, Ulli is getting by Knut and planning his attack towards me...
Soon I have Ulli right behind me as we come to the long straight...
Last lap...As we come out of the last left before the straight, I can here the roar of Ulli's Vette reaching closer and closer. While in the long straight, Ulli puts the hammer down and shows me that his Vette has some nice top end speed and gets by me.
Ulli finishes 3rd, Tom 2nd, and Sam 1st...
Stu, great choice of track for these monsters man :good:.
Had lots of fun with chasing Amir in this race. I noticed I drove faster when following him around than when I was by myself. It helps to be behind someone who knows what they are doing and mimic their moves.
