Slightly Mad Studios have partnered up with US publisher Gamevil to announce a mobile version of the popular Project CARS franchise is incoming...

With both Project CARS and Project CARS 2 turning out to be commercial successes for Slightly Mad Studios, the British developers have made the call to turn their hand to mobile gaming, teaming up with Gamevil to announce Project CARS GO is in development.

Speaking of the new partnership, SMS CEO Ian Bell had the following to say:

"Alongside Gamevil, Project CARS GO will put players in the driver’s seat to experience the adrenaline pumping racing game in a whole new way,

“The racing genre has a large, dedicated fan base, who are going to be stomping the gas pedal and burning rubber very soon.”

Few details of the new chapter in the Project CARS franchise have yet to be revealed, however of interesting note is the fact that this new title will be the first foray into the world of racing for Gamevil, a publisher well versed in the world of mobile gaming with the likes of Monster Warlord, MLB Perfect Inning Live and Punch Hero already to its credit.

More news will follow when it becomes available...

Project CARS GO is expected to release on mobile devices sometime during 2018.

funny that Project Cars 2 is considered a commercial success. On the PC side, it only has approx 20% of the sales of the first game (per Steamspy). Project cars (PC1) sold approx 1,000,000 copes and Project Cars 2 peaked at 200,000 copies. I don't have the console numbers for PC2, but it's probably safe to assume that sales dropped sharply. So, makes sense to go where the money is...mobile gaming.
Nothing like tilting you phone this way and that way to steer......such realism.

Well, judging by their PC games, a mobile game is probably gonna be a step up in realism.
