Had absolutely no idea that all that highly refined F1 engineering capacity could be so swiftly redirected towards producing a totally unrelated medical device. Second article says Mercedes F1 team alone reckons they can produce 1000 ventilators per day.

They're now in test, and possibly going into mass production next week.

They're not ventilators, but they're breathing aids that can reduce the demand for ventilators.

And they reckon they can make 1000 per DAY.

Forty of the new devices have been delivered to ULCH and to three other London hospitals. If trials go well, up to 1,000 of the CPAP machines can be produced per day by Mercedes-AMG-HPP, beginning in a week's time.
