Questions (Again) About Upgrading my PC

FWIW - I ended up upgrading only the CPU (to i7-7700) and Ram (to 16 Gigs). I left both the existing PSU and GPU in place.

Bottom line - I'm glad that I did it. The PC's performance is generally "snappier". Faster boot times and loading times. But, more to the point, increases of 15-20 FPS in most sims and with somewhat higher graphical settings. I'm able to race with more AI as well.

Previously, my screen would momentarily freeze on occasion while racing - I haven't had that happen since the upgrades <knock wood>. Overall system stability seems improved as well (but that may just be my imagination).

Just wanted give you guys some results that I'm finding since you were all so kind to make your recommendations and answered my questions.
