R3E wont boot up

Sorry for boring thread title, but its unfortunately the case.

the game used to work just fine in the spring, and when I went to boot it up again it just never did. No loading, nothing, eventually giving me a 'program does not respond' message from Windows. I did a fresh install and tried again, same result. I've changed nothing in my system, nothing, not even a single driver, its 100% the same as before when it worked just fine. Every other game in my Steam folder works just fine. It happends with or without anything connected (wheel etc), so thats not the issue. Tried in both 64bit and 32 bit, no change. I usually run 64bit. No error message either, other than the standard 'program does not respond' thing.

Have you tried verifying your files, or even uninstalling and reinstalling the game (backup your settings just in case if you do)?

Also, the game sometimes tends to stop responding when it can't contact its servers on startup, so that's another thing you might want to check.
