Congrats to all those that finished at the top end :)

Race 1: Gained quite a few positions from my 14th place quali due to the usual first corner mayhem :) ,after that it was pretty quiet until i had Lee breathing down my neck and braked into a corner as usual but was not defensive enough so finished in 11th, nice fair racing by Michael and thanks for waiting :)

Race 2: Very much similiar to race 1 except started in 11th this time, again pretty uneventful until the last lap where a back marker i think may have been blind to the blue flag as i got turned in on, fair enough the first time but when two cars are side by side on a straight and you get turned into again something tells you this may not just be an accident but no apology, that is my moan i think it is nice mannered and hope the person responsible can step up and make a comment on here ?

Nice racing with you Lee again very fair racing and it was fun till the last lap :)

There we go again:

As taken from the forum rules you and everybody agreed on:

  • Please allow 24 hours to let all parties calm down, review the replays of the incident (often it is not what you originally thought), and if needed, try to discuss it by PM or MSN.
  • Do not make abusive or angry posts in the forum. Comments which note the accident in a respectful manner are ok and encouraged.
  • If you still feel unhappy or it isn't resolved, please make a report to the relevant Race Directors (displayed in red names on the bottom right of the racing club forums) including details of drivers involved, the replay time, and any other useful comments to help judge the incidents. The Race Directors will make the final judgement how to resolve the issues.
I've checked the replays, and at im not screaming whoever is a wrecker. I don't think the 2nd rule really applies as i'm not naming names nor am I abusing him.
And the last one, ill get round to that shortly.
So my interpretation is that I have not broken any rules which is why I posted to start with.

Yeah and thanks Grant, was a lot of fun ... and think I shunted you slightly trying to outbrake you in Race 1 (???), if so , sorry for that but do believe I let you back past again (???), you were tougher to catch in Race 2 ... sussed your braking points much better by then!!

EDIT: Wasn't you Grant, was someone else - but did let him past again like a good honest racer :p

Thanks RD for creating another nice event!! :thumb:

I qualified 2nd, got beaten by Marcin in the last min. :amen:

In Race 1, with 4 E90 in the top 5, i know i'll get pass at the start with my chev.
My start was ok, but Patrick slip through me on T1, from then on the next 10 laps i was chasing him closely from behind. I was trying to push him to make a mistake for a pass, i tired a few times on late braking on the back straight, but the bmw brake is just too strong for the chev to beat. So i waited, and finally he made a mistake and went off track, so i slipped through, and finished Race 1 in 2nd place. :p

In Race 2, i made a slow start, but lucky i avoided the accident in T1. I managed to get pass the 2 alfa in front on lap 1 and moved myself up to 3rd. Starting on 2nd lap, i was chasing Patrick from behind again. lol. I managed to out brake him on the slow 2nd left hander, and then i was chasing Marcin for 1st. A few laps later, Marcin made a mistake and spin in a turn, so i moved to 1st, from there, i leaded the race till the end, but with Patrick chasing me closely from behind on the last few laps. :first:

Overall, it was a very fun event, and peoples plays very fair. Hope to race with you guys again!! Laterz! :)

Well, that went well for me and Olly. We both have Be* internet and live within about 10 mins of one another... and 15 mins into practice our internet completely dies, couldn't ping websites or visit them, and the only thing that really worked was xfire. Its only just been fixed now, which is annoying as i was really looking forward to tonight's race.

Good racing server 1, had a few good battles tonite and the alfa done well, also had a good race with a seat in race 2 ??, race 1 was very good and i would just like to say thanks for the good racing as always.

Watching the replay Roy you jumped to conclusions about that incident.

When your flying through the air like I was the conclusion was natural but on watching the replay I think the game over reacted with the force of the impact to throw me through the air like that.
Sorry you were on the receiving end of a flying Alfa but as you can see from the reply I had no control over the car by then.

Was fun fighting back to 11th after being on the other side of the outer wall and having to find a gap in the wall to rejoin. With suspension damage as well so tyres were well knackered by lap 7 or so.

sorry, made some booboos

did not have much good luck today, kinda messed it up myself I guess...

Qualifying: my big excuse - this was my first time at this track and boy do I wish I practised first. The Honda was a nightmare on the brakes :dizzy:, I was regularly blocking the fronts into the slow turns that are everywhere on this track. I was struggling to find braking points as the markers are tiny and miles away from the tarmac so they were no use. I didn't get a lap where I didn't block the brakes and therefore I was 16th out of 17.

Race1: (start apology) As I had never done a start at this track I planned to cruise into turn1 and roll in behind the guys in front to avoid any problem. My launch was great and I was up 3 places and hugged the inside for t1 and I lifted well before the corner. Unfortunately I happened to be concentrating my braking on a SEAT who decided to brake incredibly late, so I found myself flying past most of the field too fast into t1 and getting involved in a pileup. Needless to say this is the last time I try something like that again :) sorry . I was not that badly delayed and kept going, and was battling for 8th with Grant and Dave (I think). At one point they were side by side before t1 in front and I braked at what I considered early, but unfortunately they seemed to touch and slow down a lot, and I bumped the side of Grant a bit and he went off. I let him go ahead again, but I was having some lag problems just after so I lost a lap trying to turn off some background progs. finished 14th :( (end apology)

Race2: I got another good start and was supercareful into t1 this time, so I lost some places. On lap2 I had to drive off road to avoid a spun Alfa and my car did not feel good again, every time I braked I would block the fronts so I could not slow properly for t1 in particular. I rather gave up halfway through and cruised about to finish a lapped 10th.

next time I practice first :) :becky:

Understandable, and to be honest I lol'ed too much to care about losing all those places.

Thanks RD for creating another nice event!! :thumb:

Qualify : I 've set a 1.43.1 which place me in P1

Race 1 : Nice start and lead the race to the end.

Race 2 : Superb start, start from 8th position, after T1, I am i 2nd. Then there is a small contact with Daniel in T3, this is my fault as I did not see his car in the inside line. Drop to 7th after the contact, I know I am a bit faster that the cars in font, I tried hard and fight back to 3rd position after a few laps. There is an accidient between the two leaders, Michael went to the sands and I go to 2nd position.
In the rest of the race, I fight with Daniel , nice and funny to race with Daniel. After following Daniel a few laps, I passed him in the main straight and hold the lead til the end of race.

Yes that was good mate i enjoyed it.

Thank's:amen:

Race 1: Started 2. behind pirro, but in first courner I was shoot out by other cars. Then I had a damaged suspension and my wheel was to incline to the right on straight lol. But anyway I was able to get my pace and fight back to 6. behind Michael. Great fight with him, very very close and finaly he did a mistake and I was able to get pass him. Then I tryed to catch simon on 3.position, but he let me no chance to pass. Finaly I finished 4.

Race 2:
started from 4. position with a good start. In first courner there was a crash but this time I managed to drive around the trouble. Then I accelerate a bit better then pirro, out of first courner, he was on 3. position and started to overtake him. I get on the inside,he didn`t see me, and he hits me and slides out in the green. Then I was again behind Michael. I tryed to overtake him, but he was driving clever and did no mistakes. I think I could driving a bit faster then him. Knowing there is pirro behind me coming closer, I pushed like the hell behind Michael. Was a couple of times besides him, but I was not able to get pass. Was a nice fight, and Michael was driving very clean. Unfourtunally, I think it was lap 7, I was very close Michael in Turn 4. He was on brake a little earlyer then me and so, stupid me, pushed him out into the gravel. I was slowing down a bit and looked in the mirror and I saw him standing in gravel, so I thougt he have the car broken. Then Pirro was in the mirror and I started to accelerate. Then my motivation was a bit down, knowing I have ruined Michaels race. So I did a mistake and Pirro overtake me on the straigt. Very nice pace pirro :thumb:
finaly I finished 2. in race 2

A note to all competitors in this event

Sorry to come across as a control freak, but based on recent events, I feel compelled to make the following warnings in the interest of everyone having an enjoyable race.

Many people will be unfamiliar with the WTCC 87 cars, they are great RWD cars, but quite different to the normal FWD cars.
Istanbul is a great track, but not as trouble free as some people expect. Our experience here at RD has proven that there are many spots where major crashes can occur, especially in the opening laps. Especially turn 1, turn 3 and 4 complex (the tyre stack can end someone's race immediately), the downhill braking at turn 7 and 9, and the the hard braking at the end of the long straight.

Many of these turns require earlier braking than some expect, so please take care and allow others to use some earlier braking if they wish.

If you push someone off track and think it is your fault, wait for them and give them their place back. If that is in the opening lap and means you go to the tail with them, then so be it. Consider that your penalty.

If you go off track ( and many will), be extra careful not to enter into another cars path. Check your suuroundings first.

Please take extra care in the opening lap, the tyres are cold and the brakes not fully working yet.

Lets all see if we can aim for incident free races, and an enjoyable event for everyone.

An interesting experience in Group 2. I was late to practice due to the track change, and problems getting onto the server. I did not have any prior practice, nor a setup. I borrowed my Mid-Ohio setup, and ran with that. I was slow in Qualy (17/21), and had a horrible start. After much carnage in Turn 1 I was up to mid-pack, and ran there through the rest of lap 1, which ended with an incident that left me in dead last. I ran a nice solid run after that, with a few minor mistakes, and had a couple of nice battles, especially a nice one with Tepa. I finished in 15th.

Race 2 I started poorly again, but ran OK and had some nice battles with several folks. One particularly tight one had Marc and I side by side in a turn. We tapped doors lightly, but I left plenty of track for both of us. If I was overagressive in getting side-by-side, I apologize. I thought that we had a nice little dice, and I enjoyed it. I also had a couple of nice battles late in the race, and ended up 9th when I could not find a way around Thomas Lee. Nice defense Thomas!

Overall I had a pretty good time, and did well considering the lack of prep. Thanks to the organizers!:thumb:
