Well that was a mess. I got there at 8.55pm BST, which would be 7.55pm GMT, only to find practice and qualy over, in warm up. Given I had never even driven this circuit, never mind not having a setup for it....the race was a bit of a shot in the dark.

Race 1: I had dreadful oversteer in the fast stuff and on power out. So I took it easy from last place on teh grid. Unfortunately, not everyone elese did adn I was up to 4th by the 3rd corner. But alas, got a tank slapper on and when I got straight, I found another car across the circuit.....sideways. I hit it square on and wreaked my suspension. I managed to keep going hoping to pit, but there was a real left pull on the steering. Coupled with the vicouls snap over steer in the fast stuff and on power out, the inevitable happened and I hit the wall ahrd. Ripping off my right front. Got back to the pits, but of course was retired immediately.

Race 2: Made a desperate guess at the setup by putting more rear wing on and dialling out the front wing....it didn't work. Now I had low speed on the straight and cronic understeer on turn in....oh well. Kept well back at the start and had a clumsy first lap with the new setup, missing apex after apex and then with a little bit of throttle, trying to get the back around, but it went too far.....this setup is aweful!!

But I settled into a rythum of sorts and every lap got my lap time down. Got up to 10th (from 12th :)!!) Pitted in 5th, and dropped back to 11th. And that was it. I just couldn't get anywhere near the guys up front. Stayed about 10s off 10th and that was it. Got my lap time down to 1:23...but felt that I could have gone much quicker.

Let's hope we can sort out the start times....so I am not so disadvantaged next time

Sorry if I got in anyones way or caused mayhem on the exits of faast corners when I tank slapped  Must have looked impressive though.
Thanks all for racing. See you next week.
