Friday Night Saturday Morning - Banging Doors

I love this track, it generates such great racing.

I rushed back 3 1/2 hours to ensure that I was able to join this race. I'd tested the leon, Alfa and Lacetti and had 1:36 setups for each. I has set up these for max no-lockup braking at the end of the two long straights.

Quali:

Disapopointingly, I never troubled the 1:36's that I'd managed in offline practice. Although did run a bit wide in t3 so was even slower than I'd expected to be. Quali's 18th of 20.

Race 1.

Good start, knowing from experience that everyone rushes through t1 so after w reasonable start, I avoided the initial carnage at T1 and 2 and made up a couple of places. After that had a fairly steady race running door-to-door with both wood brothers and holding off Michael Carver. Motec told me he was going to pit so i decided to do so too in an effort to keep ahead. overran the box and thought that i'd screwed the pooch, fortunately Michael also had done the same thing and I couldn't beleive it when I got out ahead. my only miskate as I came to find out was changing two lefts. It really should have been two rights.

The battle with the wood continued and I was holding them off (and probably holding them up) until at T5 i got a nudge in the rear quarter that let Michael Carver through. After that I was just hanging on for the rest of the race as my rights gave way.

Race 2

Much the same apart from being blinded at the start of race 2 by Eric's motor failure (I'll be kind!).

Still love this track and if I can free up a couple of hours, Will edit together some of the high points of the races (from my perspective anyway!)
