Ok I'm going to start with the basics , gears. Could someone explain this bit for e plz.

Most people set the 1st gear for the slowest corner of a track

1st gear will rarely be used in the race unless there is a very tight/slow corner. Set this gear length so that it's suitable to give you drive off the line/out of the slowest corner. You don't want it too long that you get "bogged down" off the line or coming out of a very slow corner and you don't want it too short that you need to change to second before you've got any kind of decent speed going.
