Race 07: Why the leader always slows down?

Hi guys I've a huge huge problem,

I've re-installed race 07 since a month and modded it for hours and hours.
I'm now ready to race and make some championships but i've found the game totally impossible to enjoy because of a big big big problem: the leader slows down in every race of every category of every circuit!
How I know that? Simple, I've never seen a race over thousand and thousand with the winner winning on a good gap and if the leader it's overtaken immediately improve his time laps of a second...
So every race is a bunch of 4-5 drivers on the same laps times fighting for the victory in a 2 seconds gap... And if I've the speed to stay with the leaders I easily win... it's so disappointing

Please explain me if you have the same problem and if there is some solution... I've searched across the forum and the internet but nothing.

Please help me because in this way the game is totally unplayable.

I think leader does it to make player win more easier

Have a look for "Von Dutchs AI" guide, it's around google.

There are quite a few things you can do to speed up the AI including this slowdown issue. It has something to do with Aero Damage when the AI's are bumping and grinding each other.

Thank you, I know that guide and I know the slowdown issue but this is something totally different...
