Laad makes it 6 in 6
Jordan driver Jimmy Laad took his first win this season, becoming the 6th different winner in 6 races. It also was his 6th top 6 finish. For a long time it didn't look like it though, Old Wolf was in control of the race and was set to take his 2nd win, with Laad never really attempting to steal the lead. With a few laps to go he went for it though, taking Wolf by surprise, and kept it to the end. Wolf couldn't fight back and had to settle for 2nd. Utzer completed the podium, his 2nd this season. Said held off local hero Poirier for 4th place, the latter taking his best result of the season so far. Rinneaho in 6th again the better McLaren, as Ancevski, Lutz and Rosella behind him he could work up a couple of places over the course of the race. Keranen finished 10th, starting from 7th he had a collision with Sigoulakis, which saw both of them making long stops for repairs. Mishra, Rossello and Laskey finished 11th, 12th, 13th. Engberink had a disastrous race, starting from 3rd he had several offs, dropping him all the way down to 14th. In 15th the aforementioned Sigoulakis, behind him in last place Dovizioso.

With half of the season passed, it seems to become a 4-way fight for the title. Laad with the best cards currently, leading by 11 points. His consistency might become the deciding factor in the end. Wolf, Utzer and Rosella in 2nd to 4th, separated by 5 points only.
In the constructors' standings Jordan leads with 53 points over Sauber. Another 30 points behind is Arrows, who are in a close fight with McLaren.
