GODIN GOES TO FIRST​

Mcdonald led early on but was soon caught up and overtaken by Godin​

Jean-Francois Godin won yet again to take the lead in the championship. 6 Wins in the last 9 rounds and catapulted him up to the championship lead. For the second race in a row, Alexander Macdonald - the Mercedes No. 2 Driver, finished 2nd however to the surprise and dismay of his team, he did follow the team orders given and finished ahead of his teammate and championship contender, James Chant. Will those 2 points cost Chant the championship?

Further back, Garry Pullen had another strong showing as he still has a very tiny grasp of the championship but the two Sauber cars behind of Omer Said and Linus Brostrom do not. In 7th and 8th was dissapointment and sorrow. Hiroshi Awazu and Thomas Hackel's title aspirations are starting to turn into shatters as they finished some 50 seconds behind the leading Ferrari. In 9th position was Ben Herbert who collected his 7th ninth place finish, rather ironic considering he sits 9th in the driver standings. The final 2 finishing positions were for Fred Owen and Aidan Keranen.

Driver Standings

• Jean-Francois Godin leads the standings for the first time this season.
• The top 5 can all win the championship.
• Godin needs a win if he has any chance of winning the title in Abu Dhabi.

Team Standings

• Caterham need 20 points at Yas Marina to clinch the championship.
• Mercedes have taken 2nd from Sauber with the 2nd double podium in a row.
• Ferrari have been closing in on Sauber in all 4 previous races.
