Whew, that was pretty awesome. Had an absolutely fantastic rally, I simply adore the feel of RWD cars on gravel. There is so much going on, car responds to the throttle as its supposed to do, you can't stop correcting your line and concentrating for a second. Fantastic, that is the essence of rallying, period.
I was scared of SS8, didn't know what to expect from the car - turns out it was fun too. Feeling was pretty good (had only one, although huuuuuuge off into the meadows
). Also I like the feel of tarmac Japan very much. Surface seems to be a bit slicker than normally in France in modern car (big +), and the overall feel somehow reminds me of Ireland without the fences/walls on both sides of the road
. Was very careful there.
In general I was very fond of the brake pedal, judged the speed very cautiously, but I didn't hestitate to press the pedal to the metal when I felt in control. That might mean some decent slides, but was +20s to Warren's Noiker run posted earlier. Ah well.
In the end I was somewhere around +4mins to the leader [EDIT: Ok, +5:30. Just refreshed it] (ATM, they have yet to finish SS8 and some SS7) after initially losing 5 mins for the early shenanigans. So I'm doubly satisfied with it
.
TYVM Warren for this combination. And please, please, please, make us drive the RWD
often. You know, to keep the balance between AWD and RWD, not between the packs :].
Oooooh, and I know I won't rest till I enforce an RWD class in RDRC S3. No way, Jose :]
