The seventh installment of the ever-successful open-wheeler championship at RaceDepartment returns to rFactor 2 for the 2018 RaceDepartment Grand Prix Championship. This series will run weekly on Sunday for 6 weeks!
A maximum of 28 drivers will head onto the track to compete for the title, with teams of no more than 2 drivers competing to take the RaceDepartment Grand Prix Teams Crown.
The Car
The brand new series of Grand Prix racing shall see the introduction of the USF2000’s, as they feature for the first time in the championship. Studio 397’s have advanced greatly in the development of rFactor 2, and therefore would create a perfect simulated environment for competitive open-wheel racing.

A full grid of 28 drivers will have the ability to compete for glory and take the title as 2018 RaceDepartment Grand Prix Drivers Champion. Absences
When you sign up to the RDGPC, we expect you to be present at all the rounds. This commitment shows respect to the league, your fellow drivers and the organisation. However, you are allowed to miss one racing weekend, albeit with an absence notice to the organization no later than 24 hours before the start of the free practice. A reserve driver will then take over your slot and you will be placed on the bottom of the reserve list for the next round.
Incidents
All racing incidents will will be reviewed by an independent group of staff who hold no affiliation to this league in any way, shape or form. All incidents will be viewed on their merits, and the decisions made by the stewards will be respected even if you disagree with the outcome.
Submitting a Report
Before submitting a report, please try (if possible) to resolve the matter privately with the parties involved in a friendly manner. If that fails then you can submit a report.
Reports are submitted to @Joseph Wright or @Matt Le Gallez via a conversation message, who will then forward the report to the stewards. Reports must be submitted within 48 hours of the conclusion of the race. Please make sure you conform to the procedure and standards that are expected of an incident report. This means,
- Your Name:
- Name of reported driver:
- Round and Lap Number:
- Video Evidence: Must be clear video proof. If you can't be bothered taking the time to record it properly then we won't be bothered reviewing it. Please include multiple angles, viewpoints. Should last approx. 1 minute. We have no problems with a quick shot video from a mobile phone as long as the situation is clearly recorded.
- Written Description: Outline in writing exactly what happened.
Point penalties will be the form of penalty handed out post-race. Penalties issued by rFactor 2 must be respected, else you will be disqualified from the session. For track limits you will recieve 3 warnings before you are given a drive through penalty on your 4th cut.
For racing incidents and contacts, the following are available to be applied post-race.
- Minor Incident = 2 point penalty
- Moderate Incident = 5 point penalty
- Major Incident = 10 point penalty or disqualification
Every driver confirmed as an entry for the 2018 RaceDepartment Grand Prix Championship is recommended to run a custom skin which you can use by entering the server with your custom design. If you are running a custom skin, it must include your racing number which will be given to you. Skins must not include images or text that breaks our rules. This means there are no deadlines to skin submission and no additional downloads that you need to make apart from "skin sharing" in-game.
