Huh, that's odd. Thinking about changing car since I seem to be having problems even finishing events in the BMW. But just for a laugh, I tried h-box and clutch instead of sequential. Three stages, didn't crash once, improved times on all three but quite a margin. How does that work? :O_o:

Oups, well, you are a privateer then, only turning up at some events. If nothing else, somewhat realistic, eh :)

Well, I can always do more rounds. If im allowed to sign up with this

:whistling:

Why's that then? And is it only true in certain cars?

As long as you use "h-pattern with clutch" you will be faster if you don't miss shift. The automatic clutch system in this game is awfully slow and therefore penalizing you if you use H-pattern without clutch or just good old sequential.

Most sequential cars shifts too slow, there's only a few that's not(Fiesta).

It's sad we can't shift clutchless in the cars that actually had dogboxes. Sure, we can use the h-pattern without clutch but as the auto clutch kicks in it's way too slow :(

So Rallying with the Fanatec Formula rim is not ideal? :cautious:

I use a T300 on PS4 and T500 on pc. Don't own a shifter for either platform so just use sequential for everything. I do ok and am happy if I'm within 20 seconds of a WR on a stage.

Ha, started a bit of a discussion here. :) But for me, it wasn't my prowess at gear shifts that was reducing my times. It was that when using h-box I mysteriously seem to crash less. It's obviously all in my head. :p

You probably concentrate a tad more, or maybe you don't push as much and therefore make less mistakes :)

Still cant decide whether to stick with the mk2 escort or go up to the RS fiesta in 4wd+. Just ran the "special event" on Dirt Rally's online events and until I messed up the last stage was able to sit 2-10 seconds off 1st at each stage. Not sure what is best to do :(
