RDLMS by Vesaro Round 3 - Le Mans Banner.jpg

With only 14 days to go until the Thrustmaster 24 Hours of Le Mans here at RaceDepartment, we get ourselves a little bit excited indeed....

So far this season the RDLMS by Vesaro has been an incredible showcase of some of the best endurance racing drivers in rFactor 2. The opening exchanges of the season have seen tight battles, inventive race strategies, boss like performances and some high tension fights for position out on the circuits of the world. Now with the stakes due to be raised another notch in our showcase 24 hour event, nothing these drivers have seen to date will be able to compare with what lays in wait at Le Mans.

Many years ago the Le Mans 24 Hours used to be the ultimate test of endurance for both man and machine, with each and every car and driver looking to minimise mistakes and mechanical issues in order to cross the line at the front of the field following the drop of that black and white chequered flag. In recent years the spirit of the race has changed, and with the improvement in motorsport technology and increased professionalism of the sport in general the race has become an extended sprint race from lights to flag. Sim racing is absolutely no different, and we at RaceDepartment fully expect the upcoming Thrustmaster 24 Hours of Le Mans to be a test of prolonged speed over a stint, with an emphasis on avoiding mistakes and pushing the car to its very limits for the whole duration of the event.

Now with just 14 days to go until the virtual green flag drops, and with testing continuing at an almost feverish pace within our RDLMS by Vesaro community, the tension is beginning to hot up ahead of the big event itself.

Luckily you don't have to be trackside to enjoy the excitement of RDLMS by Vesaro this season. We will be streaming all the racing action, all season, in high quality and with top class commentary via our various social media and video streaming channels. If the spectacle out on track isn't enough for you however then we'll throw in the opportunity to grab yourself some quality sim racing equipment too!

Looking forward to Le Mans? Are you competing in the event, if so how do you rate your prospects of success? Are you looking forward to the prospects of racing in a 24 hour race? Let us know in the comments section below!

I'm just looking forward to getting on to the Mulsanne with a field of epic GT's and Prototypes. There's no better sight in racing.

Some American's like to say that the Indy500 is "the greatest spectacle in racing", but it's not even close, Le Mans is the biggest and greatest motorsport event in the world by a country mile, and I'm so excited to be able to participate in our own virtual version of it :D

See you all in 2 weeks!
