Rear Toe on karts?

On the karts I see the setup option rear-toe...
Can anybody tell me how a fixed straight rear-axle can have any toe?
For the front wheels it's a normal option, those are not fixed to the frame, setting proper toe is essential to the setup.
But as far as I know a rear-axle from a kart can only be adjusted in height, and the wheelbase can go from narrow to wide.
What/why is REAR-toe available than?
