I think they have handled the situation horribly. Sure, they could have explored the option to other engines, sure, they could have considered leaving F1 soon if the results are so bad. But to vent it all around just has given them a well deserved 'sore losers' air that is probably damaging the brand much more than winning 4 championships helped it.

It is supposed to be a drink for sportive people* but apparently nobody informed marko&co that sport is about competing, not about winning all the time.

*That is what marketing wants to sell, it is just a poor tasting, overly sweet, deeply unhealthy beverage for mixing with vodka and/or keep truck drivers awake. Mostly.

I'm not a Helmuth Marko fan, never have been and never will be, and yes, RBR and STR have been overcritical of Renault, however (there's always a 'however') for the amount of money paid out to an engine supplier one would expect to get a competitive 'state of the art' package.
Formula 1 (as it is today) simply can't afford to lose two teams off an undersized grid, especially one that has the number of championships as RBR.
As for Renault buying out 'Lotus', on one hand it might rescue the staff and bring renault in as a 'Constructor', but that has never worked out.
If RBR and Renault decide to get back into a relationship that might work.
Maybe.......;)
