The impressive Group C mod for rFactor 2 has been updated - now at version 1.1.


Developed by the MAK-Corp sim racing modding group, and available for Studio 397's rFactor 2 racing simulation, the Group C Mod is a three car collection of some of the most iconic, powerful and impressive racing endurance cars ever created - and it is available for free for us to enjoy in our virtual racing hobby!

Containing the Sauber C11, Porsche 962C and Mazda 787B of the 1991 WSC season, the cars are a truly wonderful representation of one of the finest eras of sportscar racings long and illustrious history. Featured unique and detailed physic sets for each machine alongside all the latest rFactor 2 goodies available within the increasingly impressive sim, this new build to version 1.1 is indeed a welcomed and pleasing update to what is already one of the standout pieces of content in rFactor 2.

Available to download now from the Steam Workshop, you can check out the V1.1 update notes below:

  • Removed inside double skin 3d mesh for all cars bonnet glass - with new shaders since last update, is no longer needed.
  • Fixed dark side windows on 787b, now looks like other cars.
  • Animated wipers added to 962c and C11.
  • All wipers are fully operational and clean glass etc.
  • All windows for all cars re-exported with new uv for rain.
  • Rain on all car bodies/banner has been added and water direction movement configured as well.
  • Re-exported all car liveries with removed wiper shadows inside them because they now move and look wrong.
  • Edited and re-saved the Templates pack with all car changes if templates are wanted by you guys.
  • All cars have new backfire instead of old backfire - thanks s397.
  • RPM light added to 787b.
  • Lods made and added for all cars.
  • Improved mirror mapping on all cars

Rain racing - Please disable reflections in-game when racing in rain due to reflections in wet weather not working correctly on windscreen areas outside of the wiper clean area and because these windscreens have a lot of non wiper area compared to most due to windscreen shape, therefore making it more visible.

Apologies for another template change, it was un-avoidable and had to be done to accomodate rain support properly.

  • Manual Documentation updated to v1.1.
  • All Cars - Added aerodynamic upgrades to force AI run different setups on certain tracks
Mazda 787B
  • Revised slick tyre's grip loss on rain
  • Revised heating of wet tyres on dry condition
  • Revised clutch torque on shifter to avoid abuse on downshifts
  • Revised grip on AI front tyres
  • Revised FFB options on upgrades
  • Removed blip sound while using shifter (again)
Porsche 962
  • Modified WSC turbo hitch for better handling
  • Revised fuel consumption for each turbo step on both engines
  • Revised slick tyre's grip loss on rain
  • Revised heating of wet tyres on dry condition
  • Revised clutch torque on shifter to avoid abuse on downshifts
  • Revised FFB options on upgrades
  • Rob Wollek added to car #86

Sauber C11
  • Increased drag and fuel consumption
  • Reduced engine life and increased damage when revving over 7000rpm
  • Increased dry tyres grip in the wet to be balanced against the other cars
  • Improved AI drivers suspension and performance on different track conditions
  • Revised FFB options on upgrades
Sounds
  • Improved interior engine sound L/R balance
  • Updated Porsche 962 turbo sounds
  • There are 4 exterior engine sound variants for Porsche 962 (1 for WSC, 3 for IMSA)

Here's the thing, it's already been discussed in numerous threads, now if someone wants to know more about the mod as per thread title they have to wade through loads of posts that are irrelevant to the topic.
If some of you guys are so keen to discuss rF2 graphics then start your own thread.
I honestly don't care about the graphics in rf2. I know they're bad, but I live with it because I love the driving experience. The only comment I made was about the reaction to one mild wish voiced by what appears to be another fan of the game. One guy posts that he loves the game but wishes the graphics would be a little better and that is followed by a bunch of replies objecting to his original comment. That type of cultish mob behavior is what I was commenting about.

Is that neccessary that every time someone makes the mildest of criticisms about a particular game, that everyone including mods must jump on them to defend the game and derail the thread?

Firstly, the said person had already posted the same thing in another thread and has trolled others.
Secondly, the thread does get derailed by people continually going off topic and repeating arguments that have been gone over time after time. The fans of whatever game get tired of it, and sometimes it is just trolling.
Thirdly, you can find plenty of critical comments without a mod interfering, it's not a matter of defending a game just trying to keep a balance.

Dude, your mind is already made up, no matter the facts (pics I showed you). It's quiet clear that rF2 graphics are not bad as people like you claim to be (2004?, really). You know what, on one hand you claim that you don't care what other think about your opinion, on the other you keep coming back to rF2 threads and repeat the same mantra over and over again. Why, do you think people want to listen to your opinion? It has been said countless of times already, it's time to stop, unless you are a troll and have satisfaction doing what you're doing. You present no evidence, just your opinion. Talking to you is like talking to someone that still believes the Earth is flat. No amount of evidence is going to change your mind. So be it.

You have a problem with rF2 graphics, create a ticket and complain to S397, or at least create new thread. We've heard enough and already have a pretty good idea (no need to hear it again) you're not content with rF2 graphics and AC is THE BESTEST thing ever.:rolleyes:
 
Meanwhile I had absolutely lovely experience in wet tracks with C11, feels very right to me. Go and try to feel the right moment to do very quick steer into a slide at fast pace in wet track, rather than waiting FFB to steer itself, feels damn good and intense.

Exactly.
Now, people like Slowdive or Theodore, before you post think for a second what is the reasoning behind your post. If you want to bring your point across about something we've heard so many times from you in different threads, don't. We've heard it, we know it, there is nothing we can do about it regardless whether it's a valid complaint or not. After a while it's just your moaning and you pollute the threads. This brings us to two possible choices.
-you are either a moaner
-you are a troll and want to upset people

Imagine what would happened if I took my pictures to random threads in AC forums and kept spamming how AC graphics sucks. What would I gain? Because that's what you guys do and then are surprised people are fed up with that. Like I said, either complain to the devs or post in graphics related threads. You'll gain NOTHING here, and no matter how many time you complain to us, we won't fix it for you.
