RF2 Multi Player.. Not able to join

When I attempt to go and join a Mulitplayer race it wont allow me to join on a practice or a qual session. I just sit down in the server queue area.. I have the correct mods and all but still no joy..

Any suggestions?

Do you connect as spectator? If you do so, you can't do much, but watch or do a driver swap.
