RF2 New UI??

On this theme, is there an easy way to rename the cars in the opponents screen to make it clear what each car actually is? I have lots of content, but it just shows as a list of stuff and it isnt always clear what "12 Wingnut Fasteners" actually is.

I suspect the answer is that it isn't simple!

Simply dreadful

I should elaborate....this is not a console game, we have huge monitors with great resolution....we can fit things onto 1 screen.

Setup does not need to be over 8-9 pages, 1 single page will do so we can see the settings instead of scribbling on paper trying to remember what I put 3 pages a go, 1 single page for track and vehicle selection will do, none of this horizontal scroll bar BS. It is very simple yet it has been made impossible.

Go and employee someone, maybe a UI specialist to sort this mess out.

How do you get rid of the new ui?

I've just tried it, and it's hateful. I'm pretty fed up with S397 messing about.

IF they want a game that looks and functions differently, they should bloody well make one and leave RF2 alone.

EDIT: Just found the Beta option in steam for the old UI.

Are they supposed to keep the look and functions of a 2005 rF1 UI forever then? Of course a new UI is going to be slightly different, that would be the case regardless. The flow of the new UI is very similar to the old one, 95% of the options are the same, so functionally it's a minor change if anything, really.

The biggest setback in usability is the layout- you now have to click across 7 or 8 different pages (not in game now) to see the same setup settings that previously were in a single page in the old UI. It's not possible now to see them at a glance all at once as before. Since RF2 has an already existing userbase it would have been better to make the new UI evolve and extend the existing workflow, rather than break it apart. I'm hopeful they will address this in the next revision of the new UI.

I don't think it is that bad - far better than the old monstrosity. The only slight issue I have is putting a grid of cars together and being able to rename individual cars/liveries - but I think there were similar issues with that in the old UI.
